Using the skills I cultivated throughout both my time at university and my previous years of game development experimentation, I worked with Morgen to gather a talented team of artists and bring the world established by Hyakki Yako to life.

Both because of my love for the old PSX style, because it would increase development efficiency and because the co-director of Hyakki Yako: OH&S, Morgen Bruijn, and I wanted to work with a more focused art direction than the previous game, I pushed to make the sequel with a retro 3D early-PlayStation style. Additionally, because of my love for pushing my skill, I decided to code a first-person character controller with support for dynamic gravity shifting for this game. This allowed me to design unusual, confusing and unique levels that played with verticality in a fun and engaging way. This is also my first game that includes inventory management and save-file support, all programmed by me.

As I had originally planned with Hyakki Yako: OH&S, I was able to compose a full original soundtrack for this game. From the title screen, through each vastly different level, to the credits, my music elevates the experience and immerses the player so much more than its predecessor. I'm thrilled to have been able to write music for such an intriguing world!

This is the biggest, longest, and tightest game I have ever directed, and it is thanks to the efforts of the wonderful team of artists that joined me in making it that it looks and feels as good as it does.
