Towards the end of my first year of university, my high academic score allowed me to participate in more advanced subjects. Because of this, I chose to develop a character controller for a late-degree coding subject. I used to mod Super Mario 64 when I was younger, and as such, was enamoured by its character controller, art style and level design. It only made sense that for this coding subject, I would attempt to re-create my favourite character controller, and so, I did.

In six weeks, I wrote a full third-person camera system, a character controller with side- and back-flip mechanics, crouch-walking, jumping, diving and sliding (with momentum build-up), as well as designing and animating the character itself -- a small kobold! The game also has full universal game pad support with Unity's Input system.
